Pet Healthcare

Animals have been constant companions of human beings from pre-historic ages. As human civilization settled down from their nomadic existence, this bond strengthened further, with some animals being reared as pets. Today, nearly 40% of urban households have one or more pets, with the number being significantly higher in rural areas that primarily depend on farming.

With the many benefits of having pets well established, it suffices to say that it is of utmost importance for individuals as well as communities to have healthy pets. These in turn help in maintaining healthier, safer, economically thriving communities. As advocates of pet healthcare propound its benefits, below are some points worth considering:

  1. Healthy Pet means a Healthy Community – The pets are as good as family members and often spend a lot of time with other family membersat home – young children or otherwise. These, unfortunately are also the people most susceptible to catch pet-related diseases. Ensuring the health of the pets automatically ensures a healthy life for these family members and other community members.
  2. Prevention is better than cure – When a pet is brought home, they become part of the family. The treatments after the disease has grown certainly becomes expensive, which can be avoided by focussing on pet healthcare early on. Also, a little planning and pet insurances go a long way.

Research has proven time and again that a healthy and active pet promotes health in the community owing to its need for exercise and staying fit. An unhealthy pet may promote the exact opposite. Hence, investing in pet healthcare is important.
