Sameer Bansal Named CEO Of PNB MetLife

Bansal will succeed Ashish Srivastava, who has been appointed Managing Director for MetLife Inc.’s Global Shared Services team in India.

PNB MetLife India Insurance, a life insurer, has announced the appointment of Sameer Bansal as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2024, pending regulatory approvals.

The company in  a  press statement on Friday said, Sameer Bansal, who has been with PNB MetLife since 2007, brings over 25 years of experience in financial services to his new role. Currently serving as Chief Distribution Officer and a key member of the leadership team, Bansal has a proven track record in leading various distribution channels including bancassurance, agency, digital, employee benefits, and direct marketing.

Bansal will succeed Ashish Srivastava, who has been appointed Managing Director for MetLife Inc.’s Global Shared Services team in India. Lyndon Oliver, Chairman of the Board, expressed his confidence in Bansal’s leadership, stating, “He is a skilled and seasoned leader whose deep knowledge of the industry and our business will ensure the continued growth of PNB MetLife.”

In his new role, Bansal will oversee the growth of PNB MetLife’s operations across 149 branches and over 18,600 locations through extensive bank partnerships, forming one of the largest bancassurance networks in India. Bansal commented, “I am honoured to take on this role. We are in a fast-changing and competitive marketplace with significant opportunities, and I am very excited to lead our company as we deliver on our Circle of Life promise to our customers, and live our purpose: Milkar Life Aage Badhaein, for all our stakeholders.”
