Aerogen & IARC Forge Strategic Partnership To Enhance Respiratory Care In India

Aerogen, a global leader in acute-care aerosol drug delivery based in Ireland, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Association of Respiratory Care (IARC) to revolutionise respiratory care in India. The partnership aims to elevate respiratory therapy education and improve patient care nationwide, marking a significant step forward in addressing India’s growing respiratory health needs.

The IARC, which represents over 500 respiratory therapists, plays a crucial role in providing education and critical care updates within India and globally. With an advisory board comprising leading medical experts, IARC supports respiratory care across hospitals, home care, and training programs. Aerogen, known for its innovation in aerosol drug delivery, will collaborate with IARC to launch educational and training initiatives aimed at upskilling respiratory therapists to meet the evolving demands of critical care in the country.

Debabrata Bhowmick, Commercial Director at Aerogen India, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, stating, "This partnership will foster innovation in respiratory care education while enhancing patient outcomes. By integrating Aerogen’s cutting-edge technology with IARC’s expertise, we are raising the bar for respiratory care in India."

The collaboration will focus on improving patient outcomes in critical settings by leveraging Aerogen’s advanced aerosol drug delivery systems and IARC’s comprehensive training programs. Dr. Harish Mallapura Maheshwarappa, President of IARC, shared his optimism, stating, "This partnership is a major milestone in our mission to deliver high-quality respiratory care. Together, we will promote research, education, and evidence-based practices to enhance services nationwide."

In addition to training, the partnership aims to increase awareness about respiratory therapies among healthcare professionals, further improving the standard of care across India. Dr. Sriharsha Tatineni, Vice President of IARC, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "By equipping healthcare professionals with essential knowledge and tools, this collaboration will raise respiratory care standards across the country."

The MoU underscores a long-term commitment to transforming India’s respiratory care landscape, with Aerogen and IARC poised to make a lasting impact on patient care and the professional development of healthcare providers.
