AIIMS New Delhi recently led an influential workshop focused on harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, equipping medical professionals with essential skills and insights to drive AI-powered transformations in patient care. Recognised as a centre of excellence in AI, AIIMS Delhi is at the forefront of integrating AI into healthcare practices, aiming to address complex public health challenges and enhance the quality of medical care.
Prof. Kanwal Preet Kochhar from AIIMS Delhi emphasised the workshop’s impact, saying, “We are thrilled to have organised this workshop, bringing together leaders in AI and healthcare. Our goal is to empower medicos with the skills needed to leverage AI for practical applications, addressing real-world challenges and improving patient outcomes.”
Dr. Swadeep Srivastav, Founder and CBO of Healthpresso, highlighted AI’s transformative potential in healthcare. “AI represents a paradigm shift in healthcare delivery, enabling us to analyse vast datasets and make informed decisions. However, it’s essential that AI be used ethically to address biases and privacy concerns. Healthpresso is committed to supporting this transition by offering resources to healthcare providers,” Srivastav stated.
Scientist F at C-DAC Mohali, Sonia Dosanjh, stressed the significance of technological innovations, commenting, “Technological interventions like AI are key to addressing today’s unique health challenges. This workshop enables us to explore data-driven decision-making, disease surveillance, and personalised treatment plans, advancing healthcare in impactful ways.”
Daleep Manhas, Co-Founder and CEO of Healthpresso offered insights on AI’s future role in healthcare, saying, “AI is reshaping healthcare, from diagnostics and virtual consultations to chronic disease management. At Healthpresso, our focus is on innovating healthcare delivery, with our upcoming AI tool, Healthcare Communication GPT, designed to provide timely and credible health content for both providers and consumers.”
The workshop underscored the need for specialised AI applications in healthcare, such as developing a Health GPT tailored for the sector. Participants gained valuable hands-on experience and knowledge from industry leaders, preparing them to contribute to healthcare’s technological transformation in India.
