The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro GE Healthcare to establish the ‘AI Health Innovations Hub.’ This landmark collaboration aims to transform healthcare delivery through advanced AI-driven solutions, focusing on cardiology, oncology, and neurology.
Under this partnership, Wipro GE Healthcare, a global leader in healthcare technologies, will invest USD 1 million over the next five years. This funding will support the co-development, testing, and deployment of intelligent systems and workflow solutions to enhance diagnosis, streamline operations, and improve patient outcomes.
AIIMS will serve as the clinical partner, providing multi-modal clinical inputs and creating a real-world environment for evaluating and deploying AI-enabled technologies. The initiative will also involve a joint working committee to oversee collaboration on clinical research and academic engagement.
Dr. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS, remarked, “This partnership with Wipro GE Healthcare holds strategic value and aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat through advanced healthcare. Together, we aim to accelerate the development of cutting-edge MedTech and deliver more effective patient care.”
Parminder Bhatia, Chief AI Officer at GE HealthCare, emphasised, “AI is a transformative force that democratises healthcare by enabling predictiveness, prevention, and precision. The ‘AI Health Innovations Hub’ is a significant step in advancing healthcare solutions for India and beyond.”
Highlighting the potential of the partnership, Chaitanya Sarawate, Managing Director of Wipro GE Healthcare South Asia, added, “The future of healthcare in India lies in leveraging AI to enable personalised, predictive, and preventive care at scale. AIIMS, with its visionary approach and diverse patient pool, is the ideal partner to redefine care for India and the world.”
The initiative is seen as a major step in aligning with the National AI Portal’s projection that AI technologies could boost India’s GDP by USD 25–30 billion by 2025 through transformative healthcare advancements.
