Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals has partnered with Apollo Hospitals to raise awareness on breast cancer during World Cancer Awareness Month, commonly known as Pink October

In a press statement on Monday, the company informed that the awareness sessions were held on 5th October at Akums' New Delhi Corporate Office and its subsidiary, Akumentis Healthcare Limited, in Mumbai, focusing on the importance of early detection and preventive care.

The sessions, held from 11 AM to 12 PM, featured expert insights from Dr. Parag Kumar, Senior Oncologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, in New Delhi, and Dr. Dipalee Borade, a specialist in Radiology and Oncology, at Apollo Hospital, Mumbai. Both events included informative presentations followed by interactive discussions and a Q&A session, enabling participants to engage with the medical professionals.

With approximately 200 employees at each location, the event showcased a strong commitment to understanding breast cancer, its symptoms, and preventive measures. The sessions were highly interactive, with participants actively raising questions to better understand the importance of early detection and awareness.

Shri Sanjeev Jain, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Akums, emphasised the company’s dedication to health awareness, stating, "In today’s fast-paced world, health must be prioritised. At Akums, we start with our own employees, ensuring that knowledge-sharing initiatives foster awareness within our community."

Shri Kanishk Jain, Executive Director of Akumentis Healthcare, echoed this sentiment, adding, "Raising awareness about critical health issues like breast cancer is essential. Through education, we can strengthen the fight against cancer and create an environment where discussions around health are encouraged."

The awareness program was coordinated by the Human Resource and Administration Departments of Akums and Akumentis, alongside the Marketing Department of Apollo Hospitals.
