Amrita Hospital has joined forces with the Government of Nagaland to provide specialised healthcare services through monthly outpatient clinics (OPDs) in Kohima and Dimapur.

Amrita Hospital has joined forces with the Government of Nagaland to provide specialised healthcare services through monthly outpatient clinics (OPDs) in Kohima and Dimapur. This collaboration aims to deliver advanced clinical expertise in Cardiology, Nephrology, Oncology, and Hepatology, enhancing healthcare access for the people of Nagaland.

Under the partnership, monthly super-specialty OPDs will be held at Naga Hospital Kohima, the teaching hospital of NIMSR (Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research), and District Hospital Dimapur. Amrita Hospital specialists will offer Cardiology and Nephrology services on the second Wednesday of every month in Kohima, and on the second Thursday in Dimapur. For Oncology and Hepatology, clinics will be scheduled on the third Wednesday of each month in Kohima and on the third Thursday in Dimapur, making a consistent array of advanced services available to patients in the region.

Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, emphasised the broader vision of the partnership, which includes professional development for local healthcare providers. “The partnership will also focus on professional development for local medical practitioners. Amrita Hospital’s visiting specialists will conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions tailored to the needs of Nagaland’s healthcare professionals, ensuring an ongoing exchange of expertise and knowledge,” he said.

In addition to the monthly clinics, Amrita Hospital will offer Observership Programs for Nagaland’s doctors. These programs will provide hands-on training and advanced clinical exposure, facilitated with approval from the Nagaland Government. The aim is to allow local practitioners to gain direct experience with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment techniques.

Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Administrative Director of Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, outlined the mission behind this collaboration. “Through this collaboration, Amrita Hospital seeks to enhance healthcare access and support the professional growth of medical practitioners in Kohima and Dimapur, making high-quality specialised healthcare more accessible to the people of Nagaland,” he noted.

Amrita Hospital, a leader in healthcare excellence, is committed to delivering high-quality, accessible care to underserved regions. With this partnership, Amrita is taking a significant step toward bridging healthcare gaps in Nagaland, offering the local population specialized services that were previously out of reach.

This initiative reflects a concerted effort to address healthcare challenges in the state by making advanced medical expertise available locally, and it underscores the hospital’s commitment to equitable healthcare access across India. Through this partnership, both institutions hope to create a sustainable model for specialized healthcare services that could serve as a benchmark for similar collaborations nationwide.
