Apollo Diagnostics Opens New High-Tech Lab In Kasba, South Kolkata

With a monthly processing capacity exceeding 25,000 samples, the 1,500-square-foot lab is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality diagnostic services in the region

Apollo Diagnostics, a unit of Apollo Health and Lifestyle, a diagnostic lab chain in India, has inaugurated its 140th processing lab at Kasba in South Kolkata. 

In a press statement on Friday, the healthcare provider informed that the new facility was officially launched by Javed Ahmed Khan, Hon'ble Minister of West Bengal for Disaster Management & Civil Defence and MLA of Kasba Constituency.

With a monthly processing capacity exceeding 25,000 samples, the 1,500-square-foot lab is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality diagnostic services in the region. The lab offers a comprehensive range of tests, from routine to specialised, and includes home sample collection services. Residents of Kasba will now have access to over 3,000 tests and various preventive health checkup packages provided by Apollo Diagnostics.

The  facility features divisions for Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Serology, and Microbiology. Equipped with fully automated instruments, the lab adheres to NABL quality standards, ensuring accurate and precise test results. The lab operates from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and appointments can be scheduled by calling 033-4444 2424.

Sriram Iyer, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Health & Lifestyle , commented, “Our new lab in Kasba enhances our turnaround time for reports and fortifies our presence in West Bengal. Patients can now access world-class diagnostic services locally.”

Devendra Singh Rajput, COO of Apollo Diagnostics, added, “This advanced laboratory in Kasba includes numerous preventive health check-ups for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer diagnosis. We are heavily investing in West Bengal, with plans for a regional reference lab for the east. This facility will cover approximately 10,000 square feet and focus on molecular diagnostics and histopathology to address complex diseases like cancer. The investment of over Rs 250 crore will make the facility operational by October 15.”
