Artemis Hospitals Hosts Seminar On Telehealth & AI In Mental Wellness

The seminar featured experienced mental health professionals from Artemis hospitals and other leading organisations

The Mental Health Department at Artemis Hospitals organised a seminar to explore the significance of online counselling and the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing mental wellness.

In a press statement on Friday, the healthcare provider informed that the event addressed the increasing demand for accessible mental healthcare solutions and discussed the benefits of telehealth and AI applications in the field.

“The stigma surrounding mental health can often prevent individuals from seeking help,” stated  Puneet Diwedi, Head of the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences at Artemis Hospitals. “Online counselling provides a convenient and confidential platform for people to connect with qualified professionals, regardless of location or time constraints. It removes barriers like travel time and scheduling conflicts, making it easier to fit therapy into your life. This can be especially beneficial for people in remote areas or with busy schedules.”

The seminar featured experienced mental health professionals from Artemis Hospitals and other leading organisations. Participants learned about the benefits of online counselling for various mental health concerns, the workings of online therapy, ethical considerations of AI in mental health, and practical tips for managing stress and improving mental well-being.

“AI has the potential to revolutionise mental healthcare by offering accessible screening tools, personalised interventions, and ongoing support,” explained  Rahul Chandhok, Head of Psychiatry at Artemis Hospitals. “During the session, the panel discussed the ethical implications and limitations of AI in this field. AI can provide 24/7 support through chatbots or virtual assistants, monitor moods, offer basic coping mechanisms, and analyse data to personalise treatment plans.”

The panellists included notable figures such as Kanika (Mind Peers), Mahima Sahi (Programme Director eMbracelives), Supriya Malik (Founder eMbracelives), Simrat Singh (The Mood Space), Puroitree Majumdar (YourDost), Aditi Kumar (Pause), Manoj Yadav (Prismberry Technologies), Prof. (R.K.) Suri (TalktoAngel), Amit Malik (Amaha Health), Abhay Singhal (TickTalkTo), Punita Mittal (SoulUp), Krishna Veer Singh (LISSUN), Preeti Singh (LISSUN), Natasha Sagar (The Happiness Project), Nandita Shukla (WYSA), and Sukriti Ahuja (Artemis Hospitals).

These sessions aim to empower mental health patients by providing a safe space to discuss their struggles and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Therapists can help patients understand their emotions, identify negative thought patterns, and create personalised strategies to manage stress, anxiety, or depression, leading to improved emotional regulation, increased self-awareness, and a better overall sense of well-being.
