C-Care & HCG Partner To Enhance Cancer Care In Mauritius

This collaboration represents a major milestone in the local healthcare landscape and under the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), HCG will provide clinical and outpatient consultation (OPD) services at the C-Care Cancer Center, located within C-Care Darné in Floréal

In a significant move aimed at elevating cancer care in Mauritius, C-Care (Mauritius)said, the island's private healthcare provider, and Healthcare Global Enterprises  (HCG), a leader in oncology services in India, have entered into a strategic partnership effective from July 1, 2024.

In a press statement on Saturday, the company informed that this collaboration represents a major milestone in the local healthcare landscape and under the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), HCG will provide clinical and outpatient consultation (OPD) services at the C-Care Cancer Center, located within C-Care Darné in Floréal. The services will be delivered by HCG's specialist oncologists, focusing on specific and complex cancer cases, ensuring Mauritian patients have access to personalised and advanced care backed by international expertise.

The partnership between C-Care and HCG is centred on five key areas: cutting-edge clinical services, training and knowledge-sharing, advanced diagnostic services, facilitation of patient referrals, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. This collaboration will see HCG's oncologists offering specialised treatments to Mauritian patients, while C-Care's nuclear medicine staff will undergo training with HCG experts to enhance their skills and improve patient care. Nuclear medicine, a field that utilises radioactivity for medical purposes, will be a focal point of this training.

The statement from the company further read that C-Care patients will also benefit from preferential rates for PET scans, including both conventional and digital PET scans, conducted by HCG. Moreover, patients requiring advanced cancer treatments not available locally will be referred to HCG hospitals in India, ensuring continuity of care and access to comprehensive treatment options.

Speaking on the partnership, Raj Gore, CEO of Healthcare Global Enterprises, expressed his enthusiasm stating, "HCG is delighted to partner with C-Care and extend its clinical services to patients in Mauritius. This MoU represents a shared vision of improving cancer care and making it more accessible to patients in the region. By bringing our expertise through our cutting-edge clinical and OPD services, we are committed to providing personalised, advanced, and precise cancer care to the citizens of Mauritius."

Hélène Echevin, CEO of C-Care Group, added, “This collaboration with HCG underlines our commitment to providing world-class healthcare to our patients. By leveraging HCG's expertise, we aim to improve the quality of cancer care available in Mauritius and ensure that our patients have access to the best possible treatment options. This collaboration will also enable our teams to achieve a high level of quality in all aspects of cancer care, even in the most complex cases.”
