At the 9th edition of CAHOTECH 2024, Dr. Vijay Agarwal, President of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), announced several key initiatives aimed at advancing health technology and infection control practices in India. The event highlighted the launch of a refurbished Health Tech Directory, the iCompli infection control and antimicrobial stewardship program, and EndoSafe, a program focused on endoscopy facility excellence.
One of the key highlights was the launch of the refurbished Health Tech Directory. Developed in partnership with Mosero, the directory aims to accelerate digital adoption across the country by providing a platform for healthcare startups and innovators. Dr. Agarwal emphasised the directory's importance, noting that it would allow startups and innovators to showcase their ideas. The directory currently features around 600 startups, with plans for further expansion. The platform also enables interaction between startups and hospitals, fostering innovation and collaboration in the health tech space.
Another significant announcement was the iCompli infection control program, which offers a certification framework for healthcare institutions to assess and improve their infection prevention and control (IPC) and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) practices. Developed by leading subject matter experts, iCompli provides healthcare organisations with validated tools to make data-driven improvements in their IPC and AMS efforts. Dr. Agarwal invited Professor Dr. J Jayalakshmi, Professor & HOD, Microbiology. KMCH Institute of Health Sciences & Research, and her team to the stage to celebrate the launch, noting that several hospitals had already enrolled in the program.
The event also saw the launch of EndoSafe, an endoscopy excellence program designed to help endoscopy facilities uphold the highest standards of care. Developed by a team of gastroenterologists and healthcare experts, EndoSafe is set to revolutionise endoscopy practices across the country. These initiatives mark a significant step in CAHO's efforts to enhance healthcare standards through technology and innovation.
