J.B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals (JB Pharma) has outlined its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments in its third Sustainability Report for FY24. The report, developed concerning GRI 2021 Standards, BRSR, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), highlights JB Pharma's focus on reducing carbon emissions, increasing renewable energy use, and enhancing employee growth.
The company has achieved a 13.9 per cent reduction in absolute Scope 1 & 2 emissions despite an 11 per cent increase in turnover. Additionally, JB Pharma has avoided 9,216.7 tonnes of CO2 equivalent through renewable energy use, resulting in a 5.7 per cent reduction in total energy consumption. The report has been assured by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), emphasizing JB Pharma's commitment to sustainability.
CEO Nikhil Chopra stated, “This report underscores our ongoing journey toward a sustainable future, with ambitious goals for carbon neutrality, zero waste, and water positivity by 2032-33.”
