Lifechart, a leading full-stack gut wellness brand in India, has raised USD 500K to expand its AI-powered diagnostic and treatment solutions, with a focus on Tier 2, 3, and 4 cities.
In a press statement on Thursday, the company informed that the funding round, led by Prajay Advisors LLP, included contributions from Agility Ventures, Expert Dojo, and prominent angel investors. This capital will enable Lifechart to scale its operations, enhance its AI capabilities, and introduce plant-based, microbiome-focused products.
Gut health is emerging as a major concern in India, where 7 out of 10 individuals suffer from issues like constipation, indigestion, and acidity. With the global gut health market projected to reach USD 18 billion by 2025–26.
Mukul Shah, CEO and Co-founder of Lifechart, stated, "We are excited to have secured this investment in such a challenging funding climate. This funding will allow us to strengthen our AI-driven diagnostics, expand our doctor network, and grow our presence in smaller cities while introducing new solutions in Tier 1 markets. Our focus on diagnosing and treating gut health issues, rather than just selling products, sets us apart from others in the industry."
Lifechart plans to hire 50 in-house BAMS and BHMS doctors to meet the growing demand in underserved regions. Additionally, the company is set to launch India’s first plant-based, microbiome-focused products designed for the Tier 1 market. These products will offer natural and holistic solutions for better gut health, further supported by Lifechart's proprietary AI-driven insights and personalised treatment plans.
Lifechart is also working on the development of DIY gut health diagnostic kits, which will allow individuals to test their gut health from home. These kits will be paired with expert consultations and AI-powered recommendations, providing personalised lifestyle and dietary suggestions to promote long-term gut health.
Looking ahead, Lifechart plans to open 150 gut wellness clinics over the next three years, providing more accessible and effective care for gut-related issues. The company’s AI platform will also enhance its ability to predict regional trends in gut health, ensuring more targeted treatments.
Having been CM2 profitable for the last 12 months, Lifechart is on track to triple its revenue in the coming year. The company is currently in talks to raise an additional USD 1.5-2 million from a prominent VC firm to accelerate its growth.
Dr. Prakash Mody and Jayendra Shah, Founders of Prajay LLP, expressed their confidence in Lifechart's vision, saying, "Gut health is a significant issue not only in India but globally. Lifechart’s innovative technology and full-stack approach are solving this problem in a unique way. We have full confidence in Mukul’s leadership, given his successful track record as a serial entrepreneur."
