Max Healthcare, one of India’s largest private healthcare providers, has outlined its commitment to sustainability and technological innovation during its 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM).
As part of its sustainable growth strategy, the healthcare giant is leveraging technology to minimise its ecological footprint while continuing to expand high-quality patient services.
Max Healthcare’s sustainability initiatives focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving natural resources, increasing energy efficiency, and managing waste responsibly. The adoption of renewable energy solutions and alternative waste processing technologies has further reduced the organisation's carbon footprint.
At the AGM, Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director of Max Healthcare Institute , reaffirmed the company's dedication to environmental responsibility, stating, “While we expand rapidly, our goal continues to be to provide high-quality, patient-centric care while minimising our ecological footprint. By investing in advanced technologies, adopting green practices, and fostering a culture of sustainability, we aim to create a healthier future for our patients, staff, and the communities we serve.”
Max Healthcare has implemented several green practices in its hospitals, including the use of Electronically Commutated Fans and Variable Frequency Drives in high-usage areas, and a partnership with IIT Delhi for groundwater recharge, which contributes 57,000 million litres of water annually. Waste management systems have also been integrated across its facilities.
The company also reported significant growth in its asset-light services, Max Lab and Max@Home. Max Lab, which now operates in 41 cities with over 1,100 collection centres and pick-up points, offers a wide array of over 2,500 tests across various specialities. It also continues to advance its capabilities in genomics and molecular testing through national and international research collaborations.
Max@Home, available in 12 cities, offers services such as palliative care, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. The service includes 24/7 patient remote monitoring and personalised care plans.
Additionally, Max Healthcare’s recent acquisition of Jaypee Healthcare further underscores its expansion of quaternary healthcare services, aimed at enhancing patient care across the country.
With 20 hospitals, over 4,300 beds, and a workforce of more than 19,500 medical professionals, Max Healthcare is committed to clinical excellence while maintaining its focus on sustainability and technological innovation for the future.
