M|O|C Expands Cancer Care With New Tanzania Centre

The facility in Tanzania will offer a comprehensive range of services, including diagnostics, surgery, chemotherapy, and post-treatment support for patients

M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre, India’s leading chain of community cancer care centres, has made its first international foray with the launch of a new Community Cancer Centre in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

In a press statement on Wednesday, the company informed that the centre, inaugurated on October 11, 2024, was developed in partnership with Shifa PAN African Hospitals, marking a significant milestone for M|O|C as it expands its cancer care delivery model beyond India.

The facility in Tanzania will offer a comprehensive range of services, including diagnostics, surgery, chemotherapy, and post-treatment support for patients. As the knowledge partner, M|O|C will use its extensive expertise to enhance cancer treatment and outcomes in the region, which faces over 42,000 new cases annually.

"This is a historic moment for M|O|C as we extend our expertise in accessible cancer care to Tanzania. Our partnership with Shifa reflects a shared vision of transforming cancer care delivery and ensuring patients receive treatment closer to home," said an MOC Spokesperson.

M|O|C plans to replicate this model within India, expanding its community-based cancer care approach to alleviate pressure on larger hospitals and increase accessibility for patients.
