Park Hospital in Gurugram has launched Robotic-Assisted Surgery program, a significant advancement aimed at improving the precision and control of complex surgical procedures.
In a press statement on Monday, the healthcare provider informed that the hospital's medical team will utilise the advanced da Vinci robotic surgical systems, which promise greater accuracy, reduced tissue damage, and faster recovery times compared to traditional surgical techniques.
The Robotic-Assisted Surgery program at Park Hospital encompasses advanced surgical procedures across multiple specialities, including general surgery, abdominal surgery, colorectal surgery, oncology surgery, gynaecological surgery, and urological surgery. Among the procedures offered are robotic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, inguinal hernia repair, ventral hernia repair, and abdominal wall reconstruction.
In abdominal surgery, the program includes robotic fundoplication, Heller’s myotomy, splenectomy, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass. Colorectal procedures feature robotic colorectal surgery and rectopexy, while oncology surgery offers advanced robotic-assisted techniques for various cancers. Gynecological options include robotic hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, and pelvic organ prolapse repair. The urological department provides robotic prostatectomy, nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, and ureteral reimplantation.
These robotic-assisted surgeries offer multiple benefits, such as reduced bleeding, smaller and more cosmetically appealing incisions, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times, enabling patients to return to their daily lives more swiftly.
Dr Anshuman Kaushal, Director of the Department of Minimal Access, Metabolic, Bariatric & Robotic Surgery, highlighted the program's impact saying, “The introduction of robotic-assisted surgery at Park Hospital is a major step forward in patient care. This technology enables us to perform surgeries with enhanced precision, which could lead to reduced recovery times and postoperative complications. Our aim is to make these advanced surgical options accessible to a wider range of patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality care.”
Dr. Harish Verma, Director of the Department of Surgical Oncology, added, “Robotic-assisted surgery allows us to perform intricate surgeries with enhanced precision, which is essential for improving patient outcomes. At Park Hospital, we are dedicated to offering advanced treatment options that focus on both the effectiveness of the procedure and the overall well-being of our patients.”
