The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) has reached ₹1000 crore in sales by October 2024, significantly earlier than last year, when this target was met in December. This milestone underscores the increasing public trust in affordable, high-quality medicines provided through the initiative. Over 14,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country have contributed to this success, offering essential medicines at reduced prices and easing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.

In September 2024 alone, PMBJP reported a ₹200 crore in sales, further highlighting its growing impact. Over the past decade, the number of Kendras has grown 170-fold, from 80 in 2014 to more than 14,000 today, covering almost all districts in India. By 2026, the network is expected to expand to 25,000 Kendras, making affordable healthcare even more accessible.

PMBJP’s product portfolio includes 2,047 medicines and 300 surgical devices, covering a wide range of therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, and gastrointestinal treatments. With nearly 1 million people visiting the Kendras daily, the initiative is a crucial driver of health equity, ensuring that quality healthcare is within reach for all.
