SS Innovations, the pioneer of India’s first indigenous surgical robotic system, has successfully completed over 2,000 surgeries using its SSI Mantra Surgical Robot.
This major milestone highlights India’s growing prominence in healthcare technology and SS Innovations' dedication to making advanced robotic surgery accessible worldwide. The surgeries, performed with zero mortality and no device-related adverse events, showcase the safety, precision, and reliability of the SSI Mantra system.
The surgeries span multiple specialities, including general, urology, gynaecology, cardiac, colorectal, thoracic, and gastroenterology. To date, 812 general surgeries, 661 urology surgeries, 287 gynaecological procedures, and 124 cardiac surgeries have been performed using the SSI Mantra system, among others. The advanced system integrates cutting-edge technology with ergonomic design, offering surgeons precise control and delivering improved patient outcomes.
Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of SS Innovations, celebrated the achievement: "This milestone reflects the dedication of our engineers and their commitment to improving lives. We are proud to democratise access to world-class robotic surgeries and decentralise excellence, bringing advanced healthcare to people of all socio-economic backgrounds."
The SSI Mantra system has already been installed in hospitals across India, including in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities such as Moradabad, Hisar, Coimbatore, Rohtak, and Cuttack. Its affordability and ease of use have made it an invaluable tool, particularly in regions where high costs have previously limited access to such technology.
