Sterling Biotech, a joint venture between Perfect Day and Zydus, has begun construction of the world’s first precision fermentation-based dairy protein manufacturing facility. The foundation stone was recently laid in Bharuch, Gujarat, marking a significant step toward revolutionising sustainable food production.
Spread across 27 acres, this cutting-edge facility is expected to become operational by the first quarter of 2026. It is designed to serve as a large-scale hub for producing precision fermentation-based dairy proteins, which aim to cater to the increasing global demand for eco-friendly food ingredients. The facility's production capacity is already largely booked, highlighting robust market interest. Additionally, land and infrastructure provisions have been made to support future expansions.
