SumeetSSG, a collaboration between Sumeet Group Enterprises and Spain’s SSG Matrix, has announced a strategic initiative to enhance emergency medical services in India.

SumeetSSG, a collaboration between Sumeet Group Enterprises and Spain’s SSG Matrix, has announced a strategic initiative to enhance emergency medical services in India. With a total investment of INR 1600 crore, the initiative will launch the new 'Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services' (MEMS) 108 Ambulance Project across the state, providing a fleet of state-of-the-art ambulances to improve critical care accessibility.

The project, starting in Maharashtra, seeks to reduce response times and provide high-quality emergency care within the critical “golden hour.” The upgraded ambulances are equipped with advanced technologies including Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), tablet PCs, RFID, GPS, caller location tracking, CCTV, TRIAGE systems, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Additionally, systems such as Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Vehicle Tracking and Management (VTMS), and patient arrival intimation will ensure efficient and timely service.

SumeetSSG’s fleet encompasses Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, neonatal ambulances, and more. The initiative also includes forward-looking services such as medical application drones and helicopter emergency medical support, broadening emergency access in challenging scenarios.

The announcement was made against the backdrop of the Spain-India Business Summit, with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez inspecting the ambulance fleet during his official visit to India. Highlighting the significance of the partnership, Prime Minister Sánchez commended the initiative, praising it as a progressive step in India's healthcare sector.

Summit Salunke, Vice Chairman of Sumeet Group Enterprises, expressed appreciation for the visit, saying, “I am deeply grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hosting Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his delegation. We proudly showcased our latest fleet, developed specifically for the Indian market in collaboration with SSG, one of Europe’s leading ambulance service providers. This initiative is set to transform India’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and strengthen India-Spain ties, paving the way for further investments in India’s B2G sector, in alignment with the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.”

Echoing this enthusiasm,  Diego Prieto Jr., Vice Chairman of SSG Matrix, remarked, “Our partnership with Sumeet Group represents a shared commitment to advancing healthcare services in India. I extend my gratitude to the Maharashtra State leadership and the State Public Health Department for their innovative MEMS 108 initiative, which will soon bring these advanced ambulance services to the region.”

Under the State National Health Mission, the MEMS 108 initiative will address emergencies ranging from road accidents and serious illnesses to natural disasters, ensuring timely stabilization and transport for patients. The project sets a new benchmark for emergency medical services in India, offering not only technological advancements but also a sustainable model for public-private partnerships in healthcare delivery.

The MEMS 108 Project rollout will occur in five phases over the coming months, marking a significant leap forward in emergency medical preparedness across Maharashtra.
