Healthcare Burden Is Growing Bigger Every Day: Randeep D

In a keynote address at the first edition of BW Healthcare World's Festival of Healthtech Randeep D., IAS, Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare Services, and State Mission Director of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in Karnataka, underscored critical healthcare challenges in India.

"India produces great leaders, but the healthcare burden is growing bigger every day. Apart from COVID, our concerns today are hypertension, cancer, and more. Lifestyle changes can help avoid these issues," Randeep stated.

He emphasised the importance of technology, human compassion, and care, acknowledging advancements like AI and advanced medical imaging. "We're in an exciting era, but we must remember that behind every advancement lies a vision for a happier, healthier, and more prosperous world."

Addressing emerging threats, he noted, "Challenges are humongous today, with diseases like Nipah Virus and zoonotic diseases on the rise. Healthcare faces tremendous challenges, not just in finding treatments but also in data protection." 

Randeep also discussed the Ayushman Bharat digital mission and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, emphasising patient data protection and universal health coverage.
