Allergan Aesthetics Highlights India's Growing Role In Global Aesthetic Medicine At Mumbai Conclave

The event gathered leading aesthetic practitioners, including Dr Sanjeev Nelogi, Dr Rashmi Shetty, and Dr Anjali Ghatge, to discuss non-invasive trends, technological innovations, and the future of the aesthetic industry

Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, spotlighted India’s rapid ascent in the global aesthetic medicine sector during its sensitisation conclave, ‘Aesthetics- Empowering Confidence’.

In a press statement on Monday, the company informed that the event gathered leading aesthetic practitioners, including Dr Sanjeev Nelogi, Dr Rashmi Shetty, and Dr Anjali Ghatge, to discuss non-invasive trends, technological innovations, and the future of the aesthetic industry.

The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's 2020 report revealed a preference shift towards non-surgical procedures, with botulinum toxin procedures topping the list and showing a 26.1 per cent increase globally. Hyaluronic acid procedures, however, saw a decrease to 4.3 million. Women remain the predominant demographic, comprising 85.7 per cent of the market, but a growing acceptance among men and millennials is broadening the industry’s consumer base.

An Allergan Aesthetics spokesperson commented, "India is poised to become a global leader in aesthetic medicine. As once-private procedures become mainstream, we are committed to driving growth and innovation in the Indian market, making aesthetic treatments accessible and beneficial to a broader audience."

Dr Rashmi Shetty emphasised the normalisation of aesthetic treatments, saying, "Aesthetic medicine, like lip fillers, is now as accessible as buying lipstick. These treatments offer significant psychological benefits. It's not about choosing between botulinum toxin or fillers, but about using both to complement each other. Patients should select qualified healthcare providers and ensure the use of legitimate products."

India’s aesthetic medicine market is booming, with projections estimating it will reach USD 3.02 billion by 2029. This growth is fueled by rising disposable incomes, increased health consciousness, and urbanisation, creating opportunities for innovation in the field.

Dr. Anjali Ghatge highlighted the evolving nature of aesthetic treatments, "Our approach goes beyond skin care to enhance psychological well-being. We utilise advanced technologies such as AI-based facial analysis, electromagnetic muscle stimulation, and custom injectables to provide personalised care. Each treatment plan is uniquely tailored to individual needs, ensuring a comfortable experience."

Dr. Sanjeev Nelogi noted, “The perception of aesthetic treatments has shifted from being exclusive to celebrities to becoming a common choice for individuals seeking enhanced confidence in their appearance.”
