Apollo Hospitals' 11th International Health Dialogue Spotlights Technological Breakthroughs In Patient Safety

The annual International Health Dialogue (IHD) by Apollo Hospitals, India's leading integrated healthcare provider, kicked off with a focus on technological breakthroughs shaping patient safety. The event combined the International Patient Safety Conference (IPSC) and Transforming Healthcare with Information Technology (THIT) at Sheraton-Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru.

The conference featured a diverse lineup of distinguished speakers, including S Somnath, Chairman of ISRO; Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Executive Chairperson, Biocon and Dr Neelam Dhingra, Head of Patient Safety Flagship Unit, World Health Organization (WHO). Sessions explored topics such as the role of AI in healthcare, patient-centric care, smart hospitals, mental wellness in patient safety, and healthcare in outer space.

Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for S and T, acknowledged the conference's advocacy for patient safety and digital health initiatives, emphasising the need for a comprehensive healthcare framework integrating cutting-edge technologies.

Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Group, highlighted the evolving healthcare landscape, with digital and tele-services becoming mainstream. She expressed optimism that insights shared at the forum would contribute to meaningful and futuristic patient safety measures.

Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, envisioned a transformative trend of 'Heal in India, Heal by India, and Heal from India.' The conference aimed to bring together the healthcare ecosystem for a collaborative approach to building a global healthcare model.

As part of IHD, Apollo Hospitals introduced "Solvathon 2024," a unique hackathon in collaboration with IITACB and the THIT Conference. Running parallel to the conference, it engages participants in building impactful projects to redefine healthcare.

The IPSC conference featured keynotes by Dr Preetha Reddy and Dr. Sangita Reddy, along with global healthcare leaders. The THIT conference explored the potential of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, discussing topics such as telehealth's positive impact on the environment and India's role in global healthcare innovation.
