On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, the ASSOCHAM CSR Council, through its ‘Illness to Wellness’ initiative, paid tribute to the relentless dedication of doctors in serving humanity and alleviating pain.
In a press statement on Monday, the organisation said that this initiative acknowledges the pivotal role played by doctors in the healthcare system, highlighting their unwavering commitment and sacrifices.
Anil Rajput, Chairperson of ASSOCHAM National CSR Council, emphasised the significance of this day, stating, “Doctors are the backbone of our healthcare system, providing not only medical expertise but also empathy and comfort to patients. Their resilience and dedication, especially evident during the global pandemic, showcase their heroic efforts. Today, we salute their selfless service and recognise their profound impact on society.”
Reflecting on the initiative’s impact, G.C. Khilnani, Chairman of PSRI Institute of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, remarked, “The ‘Illness to Wellness’ initiative plays a crucial role in spreading awareness about diseases and preventive healthcare measures. It has significantly contributed to enhancing public health literacy and promoting a culture of wellness.”
To commemorate National Doctor’s Day, ‘Illness to Wellness’ organised a special program on June 29th, recognising the exemplary contributions of over 80 doctors. Esteemed medical professionals such as TS Kler, Randeep Guleria, SK Sarin, Yash Gulati, Mohsin Wali, and Rajinder K Dhamija were honoured for their outstanding service in healthcare.
The event underscored the importance of recognising and supporting healthcare professionals who tirelessly work towards building a healthier and resilient nation.
