Dr Agarwal's Group of Eye Hospitals has allocated Rs 100 crore for the establishment of new hospitals and the modernisation of existing infrastructure facilities in Kerala, according to the chief operating officer, Rahul Agarwal's comments in the media. The eye care provider, based in the city, inaugurated a new hospital in Kozhikode as part of its expansion plan.
The investment of Rs 100 crore over the next two years is aimed at transforming Kerala into a hub for world-class eye care services. The funds will be utilised for the establishment of new hospitals and the upgrading of existing facilities across the state.
By the end of the next financial year, the group plans to open its second facility in Thiruvananthapuram. Additionally, there are plans to establish a presence in various locations, including Kannur, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kollam, Thalassery, and Malappuram, by the end of 2025-26.
The newly inaugurated hospital in Calicut, spread across 10,000 sq ft in Patteri, Pottammal, offers advanced facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as cornea issues, retina problems, refractive errors, and cataracts. Dr S Soundari, Regional Head-Clinical Services at Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, highlighted the hospital's comprehensive range of services, including routine eye examinations, advanced diagnostics, and various surgical interventions.
In celebration of the new facility's inauguration, the hospital will provide free consultations to patients until the end of the current month. Dr Agarwal's Group of Eye Hospitals currently operates over 160 eye care facilities in India and 15 in Africa, with a commitment to delivering excellence in eye care services.
