Intuitive, a global leader in minimally invasive care and robotic-assisted surgery (RAS), has inaugurated its new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru.
In a press statement on Friday, the company informed that the facility, which aims to drive innovation and operational efficiency, was opened by Intuitive CEO Gary S. Guthart and Karnataka’s Minister for Medical Education, Dr. Sharanprakash Rudrappa Patil, during a ceremony at Embassy Golf Links.The GCC will employ up to 250 full-time professionals across various functions, including IT support, enterprise analytics, software quality, and human resources. The centre will also manage post-market surveillance, further ensuring the safety and performance of Intuitive’s surgical systems and technologies.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Sharanprakash Rudrappa Patil emphasised the importance of Bengaluru as a hub for medical technology and innovation. "Today marks a significant step forward with the establishment of the Global Capability Centre. Robotics is a cutting-edge technology shaping the future of surgery, and we are committed to supporting such advancements. This centre will play a vital role in training more doctors in India, further strengthening our global standing in medical expertise. We look forward to collaborating with Intuitive to bring healthcare technology to every corner of Karnataka," said Dr. Patil.
