The Max Healthcare Foundation has announced the launch of the second edition of its flagship initiative, the Max Medical Scholarship Programme, aimed at supporting meritorious MBBS students from economically weaker sections. This year, the program will fully fund the education of 100 new students who have secured admission to government medical colleges in Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Nagpur, and Dehradun for the academic session 2024-25.
The scholarship ensures comprehensive financial support, covering tuition fees, textbooks, a personal laptop, and essential medical tools such as a bone set, dissection kit, and stethoscope, along with a monthly allowance for expenses. Each scholarship is tailored to support students throughout the five-year duration of their MBBS journey.
In a significant commitment, the initiative also continues to fund students who were selected in its inaugural year, now entering their second year of medical education.
Speaking on the occasion, Taruna Soi, Chairperson of Max Healthcare Foundation, emphasised the program’s role in addressing educational inequities. She said, "Financial constraints can often force meritorious students to abandon their dreams of completing medical education. We are proud to extend our support to 100 more talented students through this program. Rooted in our values of care and compassion, this initiative aims to nurture talent, break barriers, and create a brighter future for healthcare."
The application window for the program will be open from December 13 to December 27, 2024. Interested students who have cleared the NEET examination and are enrolled in government medical colleges can apply through the Foundation’s website: www.maxhealthcarefoundation.org.
The selection process includes a thorough assessment of socio-economic criteria and NEET rankings, followed by interviews and validation of required documents. A jury from Max Healthcare Foundation will evaluate the applications to select the 100 most deserving candidates.
