Max Institute Of Cancer Care Hosts Max Onco Updates 2024, Advancing Cancer Research & Patient Care

The event, dedicated to driving clinical excellence, advancing oncological research, and improving patient care, served as a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the fight against cancer

The Max Institute of Cancer Care has successfully concluded Max Onco Updates 2024, a two-day scientific conference that brought together over 1500 oncologists, clinicians, and industry leaders from across the country. 

In a press statement on Thursday, the company informed that the event, dedicated to driving clinical excellence, advancing oncological research, and improving patient care, served as a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the fight against cancer.

Actor and breast cancer survivor Mahima Chaudhry inaugurated the event, sharing her personal journey of overcoming breast cancer. She emphasised the importance of early diagnosis and highlighted the exceptional treatment infrastructure available in India. "Cancer is treatable. Early detection is key. Strength is not just about fighting the disease, but embracing every moment with hope and resilience," said Chaudhry, encouraging patients to remain hopeful throughout their treatment.

Dr. Harit Chaturvedi, Chairman of the Max Institute of Cancer Care, expressed the significance of the gathering. “We were delighted to witness a significant assembly of oncology experts from across the nation at Max Onco Updates 2024. This event is essential for shaping the future discourse on cancer care in India. It allows medical professionals, researchers, and students to collaborate, share ideas, and collectively accelerate progress in cancer treatment,” he stated.

The conference highlighted the latest innovations in cancer treatment, including Precision Medicine, Immunotherapy, Targeted Therapy, and advanced techniques in Radiation Therapy and Surgery. Dr. Meenu Walia, Vice Chairman, Medical Oncology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Patparganj, noted, “Newer technologies have revolutionised cancer care, providing better treatment outcomes, even in advanced cases. Regular screenings are crucial for early detection, which greatly improves chances of successful treatment.”

In addition to discussions on medical advancements, Dr. Meenu Walia launched her book titled Beyond The Scans: Healing Hands, Hopeful Hearts during the event. The conference concluded with a special performance by cancer survivors under the theme “Aashayein: Colours of India,” celebrating their resilience and hope.
