While mankind has taken a lot from the laps of Mother Nature, it is the time to restore balance as the world seems to be mired in challenges such as pollution. To provide some respite to the dire situation, Motherhood is coming up with initiatives that strive to add some semblance. A major one of them is the cleanliness drive that it had organized in association with Noida Authority & RWA 48. At the hospitals' premises; this drive, which took place today, was an initiative under the “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan”. The event was graced by Kushal Pal, Ex-Director Noida Authority, Dr Sandeep Chadha, Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Motherhood Hospital and Dinesh Bhatti, the president of RWA, sect- 48, three stalwarts in their respective fields.
Witnessing rousing participation from the citizens of the area, the drive was successful in awakening a collective voice that would work for the benefit of the environment. There is no bigger threat to humanity than that of the pollution-induced environmental change, which needs to be addressed systematically.
This uneasy development is steadily undermining the years of progress made in sustenance and development. As a result, our future offspring’s are left vulnerable, bearing the brunt of our follies. Hunger, malnutrition, chronic illness and successive deaths are directly linked to the shift in the environment, skewing the balance of nature. The rise in temperature, water scarcity, and air pollution have joined hands to create an inhospitable scenario where humanity will face a full-forced impact of dangerous respiratory conditions as well as depleting resources and tampered the quality of nutrition. Motherhood has always strived towards improving the world and this is a small step towards actualizing that.
“The environment has provided us with the basis of survival and prosperity and yet, looks at us as we move towards robbing the pearls away from its grasp. Especially when one takes into consideration a developing nation like India, the abundance of opportunity that the nation wants to harness gets turned into a chasm as environmental goals are not met. This initiative is Motherhood’s tryst to create a better future and garners auspiciousness with the post-Diwali vigour running through us. Like cleansing the world of evil, let us strive to cleanse the world of pollution, one step at a time” said Dr Sandeep Chadha, Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Motherhood Hospital, Noida.
“The world is in a precarious position as environmental issues mar the cause of progress. Here, the leading bodies need to address the situation as, over the coming decades, substantial increases in mortality are expected in the form of health outcomes. This includes heat-related illnesses, illnesses caused by poor air quality, undernutrition from reduced food quality and security, and selected vector-borne diseases, a spelling death knell for a developing nation like India. Steps like this cleanliness drive are a welcoming move towards decreasing the plight” said Kushal Pal, Ex-Director Noida Authority.
“India is in a dire need to resurrecting its glory, as environmental constraints are proving to be major roadblock to its progress. A cleansing of sorts is required as the environment is clocking in massive damage, tipping over the natural balance of things. Auspicious events like Diwali are proving to be a burden for the environment as this year also noted a major depletion in the standard of air quality. This initiative, in association with Columbia Asia, is a move towards reversing the bad effects and improving the environment” said Mr Dinesh Bhatti, the president of RWA, sect- 48.
