The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi on Tuesday said that it tackled a fresh malware attack, but the attempt was successfully thwarted.
"A malware attack was detected at 2:50 PM by the cyber-security systems deployed in AIIMS, New Delhi. The attempt was successfully thwarted, and the threat was neutralised by the deployed cyber-security systems. The eHospital services remain to be fully secure and are functioning normally," AIIMS said in a statement.
AIIMS assured that the premier hospital's eHospital services are fully secured and are functioning normally.
According to a technical analysis carried out by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team earlier this year (Cert-In) on the cyber-attack on AIIMS had disclosed that the IT networks of the government-run hospital were compromised “by unknown threat actors due to improper network segmentation”, the minister of state for electronics and information technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
The attack had "caused operational disruption due to non-functionality of critical applications”, the Minister had revealed in the reply.
