On the completion of 14 months of Ayushman Bharat, Dr Vinod Paul, Member in NITI Aayog told, “Every nine-minute, one person is benefitted with Ayushman Bharat,” during an event on November 28th at New Delhi.

Since the launch of Ayushman Bharat on the field, 63 lakh patients are provided with medical treatments. Nearly, 20 thousand hospitals are now a part of this scheme, where half of them are private healthcare service providers. But, with a few changes, there is a scope of improved outcomes as there are 52 crores potential beneficiaries ready to take advantage of this available healthcare policy.

Focusing on the theme of the summit, Indu Bhushan, CEO, Ayushman Bharat pointed out three key areas of change i.e., improving IT systems, investment in Tier II & Tier III cities and quality of services.

“In order to have a stronger ecosystem for healthcare, there is a need to create transparency and standards for service providers like insurance companies and hospitals. We also need to encourage the incentivisation of services and to certify the hospitals assuring the quality of their services,” said Indu Bhushan during NATHEALTH summit.

NATHEALTH is organizing a two-day summit on “Reimagining collaboration to strengthen India’s healthcare growth trajectory” with keeping Digital Health, Investment, Quality, Skilling and Mainstreaming Innovation in mind.

The summit created a platform to deliberate, develop and activate ideas and innovations for changing the mindset for decision-making and delivery.
