Holy Family Hospital, Bandra, was celebrated by the India Postal Service with the release of a Special Cover Stamp to honor its over 40 years of service to the community. This special recognition marks the hospital’s contributions to healthcare in Mumbai, showcasing its commitment to compassionate and affordable care.
The stamp release event, held on 9th October 2024, was attended by Dr Deepshikha Birla, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices (SSP) North, India Post, MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar of the Bandra West Assembly, Dr (Sr.) Beena, Executive Director of Holy Family Hospital, and prominent cardiologists Dr Yash Lokhandwala and Dr Jaipal J Jadwani.
The Special Cover Stamp symbolizes the hospital’s transformation from its beginnings as a small 10-bed nursing home called "Silverene" to its status as a 268-bed multi-specialty healthcare facility.
In her speech, Dr (Sr.) Beena highlighted the hospital's mission to provide affordable and compassionate healthcare to all. "This recognition from the Indian Postal Service not only honors our institution but also acknowledges the many lives healed and hope restored within these walls," she said, pointing to the hospital's key role during critical times, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Deepshikha Birla praised the hospital’s dedication to service, stating that the Special Cover Stamp serves as a testament to its legacy of healing and innovation.
MLA Adv Ashish Shelar also applauded the hospital’s impact on the Bandra community and beyond, emphasising its consistent contributions to healthcare and overall well-being.
The event concluded with the presentation of mementos to the esteemed guests, as a gesture of gratitude for their participation in this historic celebration.
The Special Cover Stamp, released by India Post, features Holy Family Hospital, symbolising its 40+ years of healthcare service. It also includes a portrait of one of the hospital’s founding members, Mother Giovanna Alberoni, reflecting the institution’s longstanding legacy of compassionate care. The stamp commemorates the hospital’s journey from a modest 10-bed facility to a leading 268-bed hospital and its ongoing mission to provide accessible, high-quality, and compassionate healthcare to people from all walks of life.
