MedGenome, a genomics-driven diagnostics and research services company, has announced the acquisition of a stake in GenX Diagnostics, a prominent diagnostic lab chain based in Odisha.
In a press statement on Wednesday, the company said that the strategic move marks MedGenome's expansion into East India.
GenX Diagnostics, founded in 2017, operates seven diagnostic centres and 60 collection centres in Odisha.
The press statement further stated that MedGenome’s advanced technological capabilities, combined with GenX’s diagnostic leadership in East India, aim to empower clinicians in Odisha with actionable insights from genetic data, enabling targeted treatment and improved healthcare outcomes.
Vedam Ramprasad, CEO of MedGenome, stated, "The acquisition of a stake in GenX Diagnostics allows MedGenome to expand its market presence and product portfolio of over 1,300 tests, catering to a wider population base more effectively. This partnership aligns with our mission to leverage genomics to address unmet healthcare needs in the country, focusing on improving access to broader omics solutions and expanding our network in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities."
Biswajit Mohanty of GenX Diagnostics expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the enhancement of healthcare services in Odisha through comprehensive and advanced diagnostic solutions. "By combining our extensive product portfolio with MedGenome’s omics solutions, we will empower clinicians and consumers in Eastern India with the best diagnostic tools available," he said.
