In a move aimed at enhancing healthcare efficacy, Meril Life Sciences recently conducted a two-day executive program titled "Get Ahead in Life," tailored for senior and middle managers involved in healthcare supply chain management and procurement. The workshop focused on leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies, including AI, to address critical challenges and enhance the healthcare supply chain’s efficiency and transparency.

Participants gained valuable insights into Meril’s product features and technical specifications, along with their importance during surgical procedures. The program also underscored the role of digital tools in improving the overall healthcare supply chain by boosting efficiency, reducing errors, and ensuring that critical resources reach healthcare providers in a timely manner—ultimately leading to better patient care.

Vivek Shah, CEO of Meril Life Sciences, commented, “As a healthcare leader, we are committed to advancing healthcare through continuous innovation. Our upcoming launches in orthopaedics, endo-surgery, and diagnostics reflect our efforts to meet the growing demands of modern healthcare. We aim to equip surgeons and clinicians with cutting-edge tools that enhance patient outcomes.”

Dr. Venkatesan N, Director & Chief Procurement Officer of Max Healthcare, highlighted the unique challenges the Indian healthcare sector faces. “Managing fragmented supply chains and ensuring timely availability of critical medical supplies is an ongoing challenge. While new procurement technologies can streamline these processes, their integration requires comprehensive training. Aligning procurement with clinical teams through such programs can bridge the gap between technology and practical application, leading to improved efficiency and patient outcomes," he said.

Balaji S., GM Procurement at Kokilaben Hospital, noted that the fast pace of technological change presents challenges for healthcare providers. “Meril Academy’s training programs help bridge the gap between technology advancements and operational realities. By equipping professionals with the necessary skills, they ensure that the adoption of new technologies is seamless.”

Similarly, Vikas Goyal, DGM & Head SCMS at Fortis Hospital, emphasised the importance of role-specific training to reduce disruptions in integrating new procurement systems. “Hands-on experience and collaboration between procurement and clinical teams allow healthcare professionals to witness how technology directly improves cost efficiency, reduces errors, and ensures timely delivery of essential resources, all of which enhance patient care.

The adoption of digital technologies in the healthcare supply chain is reshaping the industry. Automation, real-time tracking, and data analytics have become vital in decision-making, invoicing, and inventory management. These advancements lead to significant cost reductions, greater efficiency, and improved patient outcomes. As digital tools continue to evolve, the healthcare supply chain will become even more resilient, responsive, and sustainable, ensuring better outcomes for both healthcare providers and patients.
