The National Health Authority (NHA) has amended the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) Health Benefit Package (HBP) master. Rates for several health packages have been increased by 20 per cent to 400 per cent in the revised version of Health Benefit Package (HBP 2.2), 400 procedure rates have been altered, and one new extra medical management package linked to black fungus has been added to the list. The HBP 2.2 will go into effect in November 2021.
Radiation oncology procedures, medical management procedures, surgical package treatment for black fungus, and procedures such as right/left heart catheterization, Patent Ductus Arteriosus closure, arthrodesis, cholecystectomy and appendicectomy, among others, will all be subject to the revised rates.
Medical management practises have resulted in a 100 per cent increase in rates for Intensive Care Units with ventilators, a 136 per cent increase in rates for ICUs without ventilators, a 22 per cent increase in rates for High Dependency Units and a 17 per cent increase in pricing for ordinary wards.
According to the NHA, these improvements will enable the scheme's effective implementation and will be made in the Transaction Management System to ensure portability is not hampered. State Health Agencies that are currently implementing any of the previous versions of HBP will now accept the latest version of HBP 2.2.
