507 India employees of Altimetrik, a U.S.-based, business and IT transformation company, have donated money as part of the firm’s pledge to raise USD $1 million (INR 7.61 cr) funds for Covid-19. Altimetrik and the Vattikuti Foundation will match the staff contribution to support Covid-19 warriors in India, U.S. and Uruguay. The contribution reflects the altruistic and positive spirit of Altimetrik staffers who have received full pay bucking industry trend of layoffs, job and pay-cuts. Contrary to trends, Altimetrik is also on track to hire 150 scrum specialists over the next few months.
In Phase 1, INR 1.07 cr will be allocated to provide dry ration to 3000 families in need across Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru for a month. Additionally, 4000 each of PPE kits and N95 masks will be supplied to six Govt. hospitals handling Covid-19 cases in Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune.
Hospitals that will receive these kits are Victoria and Rajiv Gandhi hospital in Bangalore, Rajiv Gandhi and Stanley Medical hospital in Chennai and Sassoon Govt. and Naidu hospital in Pune. The kits will be procured through NGOs such as AID India, Smile Foundation, HelpAge India, Arunodaya and Swa-Roop Wardhinee.
The funds have been raised as part of ‘Altimetrik Employee Giving Back Campaign’ allowing employees to make a donation which the company will also match. The campaign that started from 24th April 2020 will end on 15th May 2020. Of the 560 contributions globally, over 507 (nearly 90 per cent) are from employees in India including 37 from US and 15 from Uruguay. Altimetrik employs 1800 people in India, its largest work base. Employees can donate one day’s gross salary or an amount of their choice.
Says Raj Vattikuti, Chairman of Altimetrik Corporation, “never has there been a greater need to unite and help support our communities as there is today. Our vision is to provide aid for healthcare workers and communities across the U.S., Uruguay, and cities in India who cannot afford medical services. So far, 560 of our 2500 strong global workforce (nearly 22.4 per cent) have contributed generously to the cause. Nearly 28 per cent of our India workforce has contributed so far making it the largest donor constituency – a number that I am confident, will increase in the coming days.”
Elaborating on Altimetrik’s strategy of giving outside India, Raj adds, “within the regions where the company has offices, we crafted a specific set of investments to support frontline warriors of COVID-19.” In the U.S. Altimetrik and Vattikuti Foundation have donated USD 400K (INR 3.03 cr approx.) as part of the partnership with Henry Ford Health System and the city of Detroit Health Department. The collaboration will bring 10,000 onsite COVID-19 tests to Detroit’s 126+ nursing homes and senior assisted living facilities. Likewise In Uruguay we are looking to work with organizations such as UY Baskets that prepare baskets with basic food items for those in need.”
