Apollo Clinic, one of India's leading chains of multi-specialty clinics, has launched a nationwide ‘Mother’s Month’ campaign in honour of all mothers across the country. This initiative aims to reduce the burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among women by offering a comprehensive Women’s Health Check Package, covering over 88 health parameters.
Sushant Kinra, Head of Apollo Clinic, emphasised the significance of women's health in Indian households, stating, “Women and mothers play a vital role in every Indian household. Thus, their health is of utmost importance for any family in India. At Apollo Clinic, we have always ensured that every woman visiting us lives happier, healthier, and well-informed when it comes to their health. Although we celebrate Mother’s Day on one day, we decided to celebrate it throughout the month and thus launched this campaign. We would like as many women as possible to avail of this benefit and receive the best advice for their health through these checkups.”
The prevalence of NCDs among women in India is alarmingly high, with 62 per 1000 women affected, compared to 36 per 1000 men, according to a study by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF). The study highlighted that among elderly women, hypertension is the most common NCD, affecting 78 per cent of respondents, followed by osteoarthritis (73 per cent), diabetes (66 per cent), and bronchial asthma (77 per cent).
In response to these concerning statistics, Apollo Clinic has introduced a health package available throughout the month of May. Women and mothers across India can access a range of services as part of this health check. These services include a complete blood count, liver function test, renal profile, lipid profile, X-ray chest, ECG, and dental screening. Additionally, women can benefit from specialized services such as Pap smear tests, whole abdomen ultrasound screening, and specialist consultations.
The health check package is available at all Apollo Clinic locations until May 31, 2024. Appointments can be conveniently booked online through the clinic's website, via phone, or by visiting a nearby clinic.
