Employee Engagement & Well-being Key Focus For Indian Organisations: Truworth Wellness Survey

The report, titled “Building a Thriving Workforce: The Future of Employee Well-being”, highlights the growing emphasis on holistic wellness strategies to enhance employee productivity and retention

A recent survey report by Truworth Wellness and People Matters has revealed that 66 per cent of Indian organisations place employee engagement and boosting employee morale as their top priorities.

In a press statement on Wednesday, the company informed that the report, titled “Building a Thriving Workforce: The Future of Employee Well-being”, highlights the growing emphasis on holistic wellness strategies to enhance employee productivity and retention.

The survey gathered insights from 125 organisations across India, exploring how companies are adapting their wellness programs to meet the evolving needs of their workforce. Rising concerns about mental health and the demand for personalised wellness solutions are driving a shift in the corporate wellness landscape. The findings highlight the correlation between employee engagement, productivity, and overall business growth.

Key Survey Findings:

  1. Engagement Assessment Improves Productivity: In the next 12 months, 66 per cent of companies plan to prioritise employee engagement, with productivity (60 per cent) and leadership development (57 per cent) also identified as key areas of focus. The survey revealed that companies conducting frequent engagement assessments report higher levels of employee engagement and productivity.

  2. Absenteeism Remains a Challenge: While 61 per cent of companies recognise absenteeism as a significant issue, more than half lack an understanding of its financial implications. Most organisations prefer to focus on the indirect impact of absenteeism rather than calculating its direct costs.

  3. Holistic Wellness Approach Needed: Despite 65 per cent of companies offering annual preventive care screenings, only 13 per cent prioritise prevention in their wellness vision. The survey stresses the need for a comprehensive approach that integrates both physical and mental health, with only 25 per cent of organisations making mental well-being a primary focus.

  4. Bridging the Gap in Understanding Engagement: Although 77 per cent of organisations track employee satisfaction, many focus on measuring engagement without fully understanding employee perceptions. The report highlights the importance of leadership-driven wellness initiatives, which significantly boost participation rates.

Rajesh Mundra, Founder and Executive Chairman of Truworth Wellness, commented, “We are at a pivotal moment in redefining employee well-being. The workforce today seeks a holistic approach that addresses mental, physical, and emotional health. Our study with People Matters highlights where Indian organisations stand in addressing challenges such as absenteeism and engagement, and where innovation opportunities lie.”
