Overwork is not just doing too much or struggling with stress. One can be overworked with almost zero activity, but which is dull and repetitive. This word brings together many situations.
How is it manifested?
At first, we feel a simple fatigue that sticks to the skin and becomes more and more difficult to relieve. Then, this fatigue intensifies and touches the activities we did earlier without effort. To another degree, the disturbance becomes deeper, affecting sleep. We sleep badly, so we recover less. The vicious circle is installed. Fatigue can reach a threshold such that one can no longer sleep.
How is it evolving? What is the risk?
It can lead to depression, a lack of physical and intellectual form with black thoughts and intense discouragement. Headaches diffuse discomfort, trouble sleeping, irritability, etc. There is no improvement by sleep or rest.
The women
Our society has changed, but the structures are not yet sufficiently adapted for women to assume their family, sexual, and professional life, whether they work or stay at home. Having a lot to manage and sometimes alone, overwork is possible. Hormones can also be the cause of tensions promoting overwork.
Children
This may seem surprising, but the overworking of children is emerging, some of them having real timetables. This is because of an excess of activities that they are pushed into, as well as the heavy competition, investment, workload, and input they all may involve. This may leave little time for recreation or rest, which can begin to cause the same vicious cycle from a young age.
The consequence for some children may be the development of dangerous hyperactivity that can lead to significant anxiety or even a latent depression. It is therefore necessary to understand that the child is a being under construction, which needs sleep, play, openness, dreams, boredom, and time spent doing nothing.
Multiple factors contribute to overwork and stress, and it can manifest in anybody from any stage of life. It is important to recognize the causes and symptoms, to help anybody who might be suffering from the same, as well as identify if oneself has the same issues and work towards fixing them.
