INDIA MAY SOON OVERTAKE US, BRAZIL ON COVID NUMBERS

India has now touched down three million COVID-19 cases which are escalating on daily basis. The rapid increases in the COVID-19 cases might surpass the US and Brazil as India has been the leading rise in the fatalities.

As the testing of coronavirus cases are rising, an inclination of an average, 57,000 cases are being witnessed on daily basis in India. With 59,56,036 cases so far the United States remains amongst the beverly hit nation from the deadliest virus. Brazil has a total of 36,74,176 cases and India is still at 32,35,725  as of now.

A total of 169 days were taken by India to get to its first million cases, which in turn was much longer in comparison to the United States or Brazil. But on the contrary, the second and the third millions have accelerated on a much higher rate than the two nations. 

As per the Reuters calculations, an average of 5,900 death cases is being reported in every 24 hours from COVID-19. Which equates to 246 people per hour or one person every 15 seconds. With a significant increase in the outbreak in India, it has has been amongst the fastest growing country in coronavirus cases contrast with the two American nations. 

The rapid shoot up in coronavirus cases on day to day basis and the death toll of India is almost two and a half times that of Brazil. Despite the recovery rate of 75 per cent, which is improving day by day, but India is still at a large risk. The current death rate is less than 2 per cent and is under control. But the as cases are rising, India might be amongst the second nation to be worst hit by the deadliest diseases. 

24,67,286 cases have been recovered as on date and a total of 3,76,51,512 testing has been done. The Union Health Ministry has ensured effective implementation of "TESTING aggressively, TRACKING comprehensively through surveillance and contact tracing and TREATING efficiently” policy. 

The Union Health Ministry said, "Focus on Standard of Care protocol including the use of non-invasive oxygen, better-skilled doctors in the ICUs and hospitals and improved ambulance services have led to improved recovery rate among the severe and critical COVID patients. Those in home isolation, being medically supervised and monitored, are also recovering at a fast pace.”

Also, the Union Health Ministry added, “A major role in India's substantial rate of recovering and declining case fertility rate has been played by the 'National e-ICU on COVID-19 Management' exercise being conducted by AIIMS New Delhi in active collaboration with Ministry of Health.”

On every, Tuesday and Friday National e-ICU is held, which caters to the ICU doctors of COVID hospitals in states to answer the queries related to the treatment. Till now there are 14 such National e-ICUs have been held covering 117 hospitals of 22 states across the country.
