Metropolis Healthcare Launches MiLES Initiative In Partnership With DY Patil University

Metropolis Healthcare, a leader in diagnostic services, has launched the ‘Metropolis Institute of Laboratory Education and Skilling (MiLES)’ initiative. 

In a press statement on Friday, the healthcare provider informed that this program aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical skills in healthcare. In collaboration with DY Patil (Deemed-to-be) University, Navi Mumbai, Metropolis is launching Fellowship courses aimed at advancing clinical skills for healthcare professionals.

The partnership introduces a one-year Fellowship Program in areas such as Advanced Clinical Chemistry, Advanced Hematopathology, Advanced Surgical Pathology, Quality Assurance in Laboratory Medicine, and Molecular Pathology & Cytogenomics. Designed for Post-MD and DNB students, these programs integrate advanced theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory experience. Participants will gain expertise through real-world case studies and hands-on immersion, guided by industry experts from Metropolis Healthcare.

Surendran Chemmenkotil, Chief Executive Officer of Metropolis Healthcare, emphasised the importance of equipping the healthcare workforce with the latest skills. “At Metropolis, we understand the critical need for highly skilled healthcare professionals to address the rapidly evolving demands of the medical field. The MiLES initiative aligns with the government’s workforce development goals by fostering industry-academia collaboration. Our partnership with DY Patil (Deemed-to-be) University will ensure that healthcare professionals are equipped with cutting-edge knowledge and practical experience to meet the dynamic needs of the healthcare system,” said Chemmenkotil.

Dr. Kirti Chadha, Chief Scientific and Innovation Officer at Metropolis Healthcare, echoed these sentiments. "The collaboration through the MiLES initiative marks a new chapter in healthcare education and diagnostics. These fellowship courses will become a benchmark of excellence, preparing healthcare professionals to excel in a constantly evolving medical landscape," said Dr. Chadha.
