Sanofi India (SIL) has officially appointed Himanshu Bakshi as the General Manager for its CHC business, effective from January 15, 2024, the company informed in a press statement on Tuesday. The decision aligns with SIL's ambitious vision of establishing itself as the premier Fast Moving Consumer Healthcare (FMCH) company globally, the company stated.
The company's statement further said that earlier this year, SIL had unveiled plans to demerge its Consumer Healthcare business into a wholly owned subsidiary, Sanofi Consumer Healthcare India Limited (SCHIL), pending necessary approvals and the sanction by the National Company Law Tribunal in Mumbai.
Himanshu Bakshi brings to the role a wealth of experience, having successfully led organisations in both the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and healthcare products sectors. Over a career spanning more than two decades, Bakshi has demonstrated his leadership prowess in various capacities, encompassing commercial, marketing, and general management roles in both Indian and multinational companies.
Notably, Bakshi has steered large and diverse teams, fostering a culture of growth and development in esteemed organisations such as Reckitt Benckiser, PepsiCo, and Dabur. His most recent role was as the Managing Director at Danone India.
As the newly appointed General Manager, Himanshu Bakshi will play a pivotal role within Sanofi India's leadership team and senior management. Furthermore, he will contribute his expertise as a member of Sanofi's AMEA (Africa, Middle East & Asia) Region leadership team and the CHC senior management.
