The vaccine alliance groups, GAVI are working to acquire doses for the poor countries and AstraZeneca has also acknowledged to license its vaccine for production of 1 billion doses to India’s Serum Institute.
The World Health Organisation is preparing an outline for the ethical dispensation of COVID-19 vaccines. However, the distribution of the vaccine will vary from country to country. Last week, US officials said they were developing a tiered system for that. The system would likely prioritise groups at greatest risk of severe complications from COVID-19 and key workers.
