Healthians' Healthy & Fit India Campaign Involved Over 247 Million

The 1st of December was celebrated as National Health Check-up Day across major cities to promote Healthy India, Fit India Movement (HIFI). The first edition of the event organized by Healthians in partnership with the Times of India with the motive of educating the public about preventive healthcare and bringing forth a change in society. The HIFI Movement gained a lot of traction on social media, with a huge number of people including celebrities taking the pledge to get themselves checked. 12 health check-up camps were organized across 7 cities – Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune and Thane. The movement recorded a total of 247 million impressions through various channels while the campaign lasted till 1st December 2019. The National Health Checkup Day webpage on the Healthians website received an estimate of 1.82 million views from visitors and over 7,000+ families registered themselves for health check-ups during the event.

At the core of the campaign is the popular adage “prevention is better than cure.” It places emphasis on the fact that staying healthy and fit should be a habit and people should get regular health check-ups to stay up to date when it comes to their physical and mental state. A number of serious health conditions and ailments can be avoided simply by staying physically fit and active. Getting ourselves tested periodically will lead to early detection of diseases that can be cured before they pose a great risk to us. Moreover, there is also the fact that we celebrate so many days and occasions in our country like - Friendship Day, Milk Day, Rose Day but, do not have a day dedicated to our health. By establishing and celebrating a day for a health check-up we want to bring about a change in people's behaviour wherein regular health checkups are a part of life and not just an emergency response during illness.

CEO and founder of Healthians, Deepak Sahni said, “Here in India, we have this culture of going to the doctor or hospital only when we fall ill or someone else does. This is especially true for the millennials who lead such busy lives that they ignore their own health. We want people to realize that there’s nothing more important than our own health and that of our families. By dedicating a day to our health, we pledge to stay healthy and fit.”

The HIFI movement is a joint effort by TOI and Healthians, launched to support the Fit India movement that was announced by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. It is a government initiative to encourage people to exercise, indulge in sports and stay active in order to lead a healthy life. Healthians Hi-Fi campaign aims to create a habit of undertaking health checkups periodically to ensure that we keep a track of our body and listen to the alarming signs before it’s too late.
